How to book
Choose what you would like to attend and simply follow the registration and payment procedure associated with the particular course or event of your choice. There are two steps in our booking process: 1) Registration 2) Payment. When you Register for a course, your name will be added to the reserves list, and you will receive a welcome email outlining course details, ground rules etc. However, it is only on receiving your payment that your place on the course will be Confirmed.
How to pay
There are two simple payment options:
Option 1: Full amount paid online or by post (cheques) at time of booking.
Option 2: Staged payment (by cheque only): half the full amount at the time of booking. THEN the other half paid at the midway point of the course.
Both payment options require you to complete the registration and payment procedure. When you book onto and pay for a course or event you are entering into a Contract with The/Poetry/Fold (please read our Terms & Conditions carefully prior to booking and make sure you are happy to continue).
Option 1 will always be more cost effective than Option 2 and while we try to keep our prices consistent the price of some courses or events may vary due to venue and other attendant costs.
As a private creative agency with no funding of any kind The/Poetry/Fold operates solely from the revenue it receives from its courses and events. Without writers and other creatives and professionals booking, paying and attending we cannot offer any new services. Pre-payment is also a way of making sure everyone who books on a course actually attends, as well as preventing administrative tasks from eating into course time.
What if the course you want is fully booked?
Course booking will always be done on a first-come first-served basis. We will log the date and time we receive your booking form and create course lists accordingly. When demand is high and courses fill up quickly, we will create reserve lists.
We regret that currently we cannot offer concessions.

If you’ve got this far into the FAQs we reckon you must already be pretty serious about attending….
All our courses and events are devised and delivered by experienced workshop leaders and educators. At The/Poetry/Fold, we have over twelve years of experience at running all sorts of creative events, from one-day seminars and literary festivals, to specialist residential events and creative writing programmes. We have managed academic symposiums; educational projects in a variety of environments including schools, museums and galleries; and we have an extensive range of experience collaborating with BME groups and LGBTIQ communities, working within literacy and numeracy sectors and women-only groups as well as working with people with mental health issues and special educational needs. We have undertaken innovative residencies in diverse places such as medical schools, and have broad teaching and facilitation experience in primary schools, colleges and higher educational establishments. In all these years of experience, The/Poetry/Fold has learned one thing: everyone, no matter who they are or where they’re from, is unique. We are committed to everyone finding their own voice and developing their own ways of getting better at what they do. We treat every participant with respect and ask the same of everyone who takes part in any of our events.
