The Eternally Packed Suitcase

The Eternally Packed Suitcase (Vane Women Press, Dec 2015) is Lisa’s third collection of poetry. An emotional and physical travelogue, the book explores the leave and return of journeying, the ache of infertility, and the labels we endure and attach to people and things as we move around in the world. Sequences are interlinked in ways redolent of the crown of sonnets (‘Afterwards’), inspired by the works of LS Lowry and the book question gender roles and the female experience of aging in a world increasingly obsessed with impermanent, replaceable perfection.
